The Director General of the Tax Office in Taiz Governorate, Mr. Anwar Yahya Abdulwahid, chaired an extensive meeting that included department heads at the General Administration and branch directors. The meeting focused on discussing tax revenue collection reports for the period from January to October 2025, and comparing them with the planned targets and actual achievements for the same period in 2024.
During the meeting, participants reviewed performance and tax collection indicators, identified areas of shortcoming, and discussed possible measures to enhance collection efficiency and raise the level of tax compliance. They also discussed the technical and administrative arrangements required to begin pilot implementation of the automated tax system in the upcoming period, given its importance in enhancing transparency and facilitating collection and monitoring procedures.
In his speech, the Director General stressed the need for joint efforts by all departments and branches, and for working with a team spirit to ensure the success of the digital transformation of tax operations. He also emphasized the importance of taking legal action against tax evaders and those who refuse to pay their dues, in order to protect public funds and boost revenues.
The meeting concluded with several recommendations aimed at improving collection performance, activating monitoring mechanisms, and setting out a clear work plan for the next stage, including the start of the pilot phase of the automated tax system and raising awareness about its importance.
